David Best, DO Dr. Best has served as a member of the MOA Board of Trustees since May 2014 and is currently the Secretary-Treasurer of the MOA and a member of the MOA opioid safety task force. He was a member of the Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Physicians (MAOFP) from 2007-2015. He served as president of the MAOFP from 2013-2014. He has been on the board of the Northern Michigan Osteopathic Association since 2015 and served as that organization’s president from 2015-2017. Dr. Best has presented on the topic of opioid safety and opioid use disorder on a national, state and local level since 2011. He has been involved with medical conference planning and speaking since 2009. He has been a strong advocate for increased access for patients to receive the standard of care treatment for opioid use disorder. He has written resolutions to eliminate prior authorization restrictions on buprenorphine maintenance treatment. Those resolutions were passed at the House of Delegates for the Michigan Osteopathic Association (MOA) and the America Osteopathic Association in 2015.
