About the MOAThe Michigan Osteopathic Association (MOA) is the largest statewide osteopathic organization representing osteopathic physicians, interns, residents and medical students in Michigan. Forging Sound Health PoliciesActively working with the state legislature and administration, MOA promotes quality health care for Michigan through the Council of Government Affairs (CGA). As an effective voice for the osteopathic profession, CGA strives to obtain sound medical policy for patients and the osteopathic physicians who serve them. Using a proactive approach to forge legislative support, CGA addresses important issues affecting the osteopathic profession such as licensing, scope of practice, managed care and the patient's bill of rights. Creating Quality EducationMOA continues to create continuing medical education opportunities for family practitioners and other specialists throughout the state. Utilizing technology and member support, MOA is providing learning opportunities for physicians planned with the input of physicians to address timely and emerging health care concerns. Partners in ExcellenceMOA works closely with the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM). Through funding and an administrative partnership, MOA assists the Michigan Osteopathic College Foundation (MOCF) and MSUCOM efforts in preparing future physicians to effectively manage the health needs of their patients.
